In response to your letter, in which you write that you are confused, etc., and ask about what order to have in your studies, etc. — these matters are interdependent: when you keep a set order in your studies and learn with diligence and devotion, other matters will also become organized. Just as the receiving of the Torah at Matan Torah was through first declaring "Na'aseh" (we will do) before "Nishma" (we will hear), so too is this the directive for daily service. As the Mishnah rules at the beginning of chapter two of Berachos: one must accept upon himself the yoke of Heaven and the yoke of mitzvos. It is obvious that this applies to you as well — that the beginning of one's service is through accepting the yoke; then Hashem grants merit and success so that over time one finds even taste and pleasure (though this is not the main point, obviously).

Surely you keep the three daily study portions established by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal — Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya — in addition to your other studies both in Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus.
