ע"י הרה"ח נו"נ אי"א רב פעלים מו"ה משה אלי' שי' גערליצקי קבלתי הודעתו אשר מתכונן לנסיעה לבקר במשך איזה שבועות בארצנו הקדושה תבנה ותכונן על ידי משיח צדקנו במהרה בימינו, וכיון שזוהי הארץ אשר עלי' נאמר, עיני ה' אלקיך בה מראשית שנה ועד אחרית שנה, צריך להיות נרגש זה גם בההכנות לנסיעה, והוא על דרך כמו שמכינים עצמם לפני כניסה לשר גדול, ועל אחת כמה וכמה למלך ועל אחת כמה וכמה למלך מלכי המלכים, אלא שההכנה צריכה להיות בלבושי הנפש, לבושים הפנימים, כי הלא ד' יראה ללבב, והוא על ידי הוספה בשיעורי לימוד ועל ידי הוספה בהידור בקיום המצות, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון כשמחליטים באמת להוסיף בזה ככל היכולת, ומה טוב שיעשה הוא ג"כ שליח מצוה בנסיעה זו, ויהי רצון מהשם יתברך שיבשר טוב בכל האמור לעיל.

בודאי ידוע לו משלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, והם א) אמירת שיעור תהלים - כפי שנחלק התהלים לימי החדש - בכל יום אחר תפלת הבקר, ב) לימוד פרשה חומש עם פירוש רש"י מהסדרה של השבוע (ביום א' מהתחלת הסדרה עד פרשת שני, ביום שני מפרשת שני עד שלישי וכו'), ג) לימוד שיעור תניא בכל יום - כפי שנחלק התניא לימות השנה, ועל כל פנים ישמור אותם מכאן ולהבא, והשי"ת יצליחו.

Through Haraha"ch nu"n iy"a Rav Pe'alim Moshe Eliyahu Gerlitzki I received your notice that you are preparing for a trip to visit, for several weeks, our holy land—may it be rebuilt and established by Moshiach Tzidkeinu speedily in our days. Since this is the land about which it is said, 'Einei Hashem Elokecha bah meireishit hashanah ve'ad acharit shanah' (the eyes of the L‑rd your G‑d are upon it from the beginning of the year to its end), this feeling should also be present in your preparations for the journey. It is similar to how one prepares before entering to see a great minister—and all the more so for a king, and all the more so for the King of kings. However, the preparation should be in the garments of the soul—the inner garments—for Hashem sees into the heart. This is accomplished by increasing one's Torah study sessions and by enhancing one's observance of mitzvos with extra care. There is nothing that stands in the way of true will when one sincerely decides to increase in these areas as much as possible. How good it would be if you also make yourself a shaliach mitzvah on this trip. May it be G‑d's will that you bring good news regarding all of the above.

P.S. Surely you know about the three daily study portions instituted by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal: (a) Reciting Tehillim according to its division for each day of the month after morning prayers; (b) Studying Chumash with Rashi commentary from that week's parsha (on Sunday from beginning until Sheini, Monday from Sheini until Shlishi, etc.); (c) Studying Tanya each day as divided throughout the year. At least keep these from now on, and may Hashem grant you success.
