Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 15th of Teves, and thank you for writing about the gatherings at various times. Certainly, you will continue to do so in the future and encourage our community members involved in this to do likewise—thank you in advance.
I was pleased to hear that you were invited to give lectures before various groups, and surely you will strive diplomatically to be invited more frequently. As you write, I am diplomatic so that it will be more treasured by them—not in a way that appears as if one is imposing himself. From this it is also understood that diplomacy is not the main thing; the point is to spread the wellsprings outward. If it cannot be done diplomatically, this does not prevent it—as long as it comes into fruition. This follows the well-known saying of Haraha"g Haraha"ch Haraha"tz R"H of Paritch: everything he did was so that a word of Chassidus would be better received.
Surely, even though you do not mention it, your wife may she live also utilizes her talents in activities for Keren Chabad appropriately—both fitting her health and situation—and may Hashem grant both of you success and good news in fulfilling your heartfelt wishes for good and success in communal matters.
Blessings.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that while diplomacy can help make invitations more meaningful, the essential goal is spreading Chassidus regardless of circumstances. Effort should be made with sensitivity but never at the expense of fulfilling one's mission.
