Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the third night of Chanukah. Thank you for writing about the Yud-Tes Kislev farbrengen, the festival that redeemed our soul in peace and gave us light and vitality for our souls. Even though your description was brief, certainly not only did it leave an impression on all the baalei batim as you wrote, but this impression will surely be actualized in matters of Torah and mitzvos in general and specifically in matters of Chassidus—its teachings and customs. There is a principle that efforts in spreading Torah do not return empty-handed; however, from time to time it is necessary to renew (refresh) the farbrengen by recalling some points discussed at the gathering, with words that come from the heart. Surely with proper contemplation you will find suitable ways to bring this into action.
Especially since the awakening began on Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus and its ways. It is already known why it is called "Rosh Hashanah" (the head of the year) rather than "the beginning of the year," because just as the head contains within it the vitality for all limbs and from it life flows, so too regarding Rosh Hashanah in general—and particularly Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus—in relation to the rest of the days of the year. May it be G‑d's will that your efforts will succeed also in what was mentioned above: to continually increase and ascend in holiness throughout the year in all those matters discussed at the farbrengen.
Blessings and regards to all who participated in the farbrengen, they and their families should stand blessed.
P.S. I was pleased to read in your letter that you memorized five chapters from Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah; see Likkutei Torah Kedoshim, discourse "VeHadarta Pnei Zaken," where through this both the holy Torah and its transmitter—our Rebbe—the Alter Rebbe—are always engraved in one's memory; see there.
Summary
A farbrengen should spark lasting change—not just inspiration—by leading to concrete growth in Torah, mitzvos, and Chassidus throughout the year. Renewing this inspiration regularly ensures its impact endures.
