... I received the pan for Mr. ... and it will be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal lehe nbgm zya. It should have been explained to him in an appropriate manner that this entire matter is an allusion based on our sages' statement: 'The kingdom of earth is like the kingdom of heaven.' If his disposition is such that because of his court case he finds himself in such a state of mind, how much more so should he have felt during the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. However, G‑d in His abundant mercy, even though there was something lacking in his conduct during those ten days, awakened him with a hint through the court case. A mere awakening is sufficient, as explained by the Arizal on the verse 'Yiten lemakehu lechi (Let him offer his cheek to his striker)'—with this he has fulfilled his obligation and may be released and 'be sated with disgrace.' May it be G‑d's will that Mr. ... will also share good news regarding his matters and his increase in Torah (both Nigleh and Chassidus) and mitzvos.
