במענה על מכתבו מצום השביעי יהפך במהרה בימינו לששון ולשמחה, כבקשתו אזכירהו לפתיחת הלב ולפתיחת המוח, וכבר ידועה עצה היעוצה בכגון דא ע"פ מרז"ל שמדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה, אשר כשמשפיעים על זולתו לפתוח מוחו ולבו בלימוד תורתנו הק' ובפרט פנימיות התורה אילנא דחיי, הנה במדה זו עצמה מודדים אליו אלא שכמה פעמים ככה משפיעים לו בהמצטרך לו בענינים אלו עצמם נוסף על מה ששכר מצוה מצוה, ושמצוה גוררת מצוה, ויה"ר שיבשר טוב בזה בקרוב.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the Fast of the Seventh—which will soon be transformed into joy and gladness—per your request, I will mention you for the opening of the heart and mind. It is already well known, as our Sages advise in such matters, that the attribute of the Holy One, blessed be He, is measure for measure: when one influences another to open his mind and heart in learning our holy Torah—especially its inner dimension, the Tree of Life—then with this very measure it is measured back to him. In fact, many times over he is granted what he needs in these very areas, in addition to the reward that a mitzvah brings a mitzvah and that a mitzvah leads to another mitzvah. May it be G‑d's will that you will soon share good news about this.
Enclosed is a general letter which will surely interest you, as well as its English translation; if you find it appropriate, show it to your friend as well. May Hashem grant you success to share good news in this too.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that helping others open their hearts and minds to Torah brings multiplied Divine assistance for one's own spiritual growth. By inspiring others in learning—especially the inner dimension of Torah—we ourselves merit greater openness and blessing from Above.
