במענה על מכתבו מאור לח"י אלול עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו. הנה פשיטא שאין לנסוע באני' ישראלית הנוסעת גם בשבת ומלחי' הם בני ישראל וכו', וג"כ אין דעתי נוחה מסדר נסיעה באופן שיוצרכו להיות בספינה בעשי"ת יוהכ"פ וחג הסוכות ואפילו חלק מימים אלו, ואיך שיסדרו באופן אחר מהנ"ל, יהי' טוב יותר.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

In response to your letter from close to Chai Elul with the enclosed pan. It is obvious that one should not travel on an Israeli ship that also travels on Shabbos and whose sailors are Jews, etc. Likewise, I am not pleased with any travel arrangement that would require being on a ship during the Ten Days of Repentance, Yom Kippur, and Sukkos—even for part of these days. However you arrange it differently from the above, it will be better.
As we approach the new year that is coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: may you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year in both material and spiritual matters.
