זה מזמן רב ביותר שאין מהם כל ידיעות באופן ישר, אף שנמסרו כמה פרטים ע"י הנוסעים מהתם להכא, וכבר נדבר איזה פעמים שמן הנכון הי' שלעתים מסוימות יעשו אסיפה וכן פרטי כל מהאסיפה - ע"מ לשלוח העתקה מזה גם לכאן, ורואים במוחש, שכאשר יודעים שבבוא יום פלוני צריכים יהיו להודיע לעוד מקום ע"ד הנעשה בפו"מ - ה"ז מעורר כחות נוספים לפעולות בפועל כפי האפשרי.
ועל נקודה מיוחדת באתי בזה, והיא: שלמרות ששאלתי מכמה הבאים לכאן בהנוגע לשינויים בסדרי הישיבה, הנה אף מאחד מהם לא הגיעתני ידיעה אשר נעשה דבר מה בהשתדלות שהתלמידים מכתות הגבוהות ימשיכו לימודיהם בישיבת תו"ת גם לאחר שיגמרו את הסקול ואפילו את ההיי סקול, וכיון שאין בפי אפילו אחד מהנוסעים איזה ידיעה עד"ז, הנה בטח זהו סימן שבפועל עדיין לא נעשה דבר בהנ"ל. וגודל ההיזק אשר בזה - בודאי אין צריך ביאור. בפרט שראוהו באותן השנים שהישיבה קיימת... שע"י העדר ההתעסקות בהנ"ל הנה רק תלמידים בודדים נשארו במחיצתם, וד"ל ברמיזא.
מובן שהשתדלות הנ"ל, אף שמוכרחת גם בכתה היותר גבוה, שהרי אין לוותר עלי', הנה בכדי שתהי' בהצלחה יותר - כדאי להכין את הנ"ל בהכתות שלפני זה, ולהכשירם להרעיון אשר טובתם האמיתית היא, ולא רק ברוחניות אלא גם בגשמיות, להשאר בהישיבה גם לאח"כ וכו' וכו'. וכבר ידוע פסק רבוה"ק שחזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם. ובאם אין פועלים הנ"ל - ה"ז ראי' מוכחת שלא היתה תעמולה...
ותקותי ששורותי אלה המעטות בכמות, תספקנה אשר תומ"י יתייעצו בשימת לב הראוי' על כל דבר הנ"ל, ויתחילו בפו"מ בפעולות ממשיות, וברכת מייסדה הוא כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע תחול גם על פעולה זו ועל כל אלו שיזכו לנהלה במסירה ושקידה אליבא דנפשי'.

It has been a very long time since I have received any direct information from you, even though some details have been relayed by travelers from there to here. It has already been discussed several times that it would be proper to occasionally hold a meeting and send a detailed report of the meeting here as well. It is evident that when people know that on a certain day they will need to report elsewhere about what has happened in their place, this motivates them to put forth additional effort in practical activities as much as possible.
I am writing now about a particular point: Although I have asked several who have come here regarding changes in the yeshivah's arrangements, not one of them has informed me that anything has been done to ensure that students from the higher grades continue their studies at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim even after finishing school and even high school. Since none of the travelers had any information about this, it is certainly a sign that nothing has actually been done in this regard.
The magnitude of the harm caused by this certainly needs no explanation—especially since it has been seen during the years the yeshivah has existed that due to lack of involvement in this matter, only a few students remained among you. This should be clear even with just a hint.
It is understood that such efforts are necessary even for the highest grade—since one must not give up on them—but for greater success, it is worthwhile to prepare for this already in the earlier classes and train them with the idea that their true benefit—both spiritually and materially—is to remain in yeshivah afterwards, etc., etc.
It is already known from our holy teachers' ruling that consistent advocacy does not return empty-handed. If these results are not achieved, it is clear proof there was no advocacy...
I hope that these few lines will suffice so that immediately you will consult with proper attention on all these matters and begin practical activities. The blessing of its founder, my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden zechuso yagen aleinu (may his merit protect us), will rest also on this activity and on all those who merit to manage it with dedication and diligence from their own soul.
