Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to hear about your conversation with the harach... that you should strive to meet with them. There is a strong principle that outreach never returns empty-handed, for the heart of Israel—as our Sages say: "I am asleep in exile but my heart is awake to the Holy One Blessed be He" (and therefore, in time also) to His Torah and mitzvos.
Regarding what you write about your connection (and that everyone has a connection) to the service of the heart (prayer), it is understood that there is no contradiction between this and being told to increase your knowledge in Chassidus and so on. In every matter one must progress step by step, and every holy matter requires preparation and effort. The preparation for service of the heart is as it says: "Know the G‑d of your father" (and then it can be as it should be), "and serve Him with a complete heart."
In general regarding such matters, one should rely on the mashpia (spiritual mentor), the ram (teacher), and the rosh yeshiva, since they have experience in these things and can judge matters without the bias of self-love—which sometimes exaggerates a person's negative side and sometimes exaggerates his positive side. As our Torah rules: a person cannot testify about himself to declare himself righteous or wicked.
I was pleased by what you wrote about bringing Avrechim closer to Torah study and observance of its mitzvos. Surely you will also try to bring them closer to the inner dimension of Torah—the soul of Torah—and G‑d's attribute is measure for measure, except many times over: increasing heavenly assistance in Torah study, mitzvah observance, and service of the heart—for those who strive in this.
Regarding your question about being offered regular work in education: at present this does not seem appropriate to me—provided you diligently study both revealed Torah and Chassidus as much as possible. Then surely both the yeshiva administration and network administration will exempt you from this matter. Of course this does not contradict occasionally engaging for some days or weeks in such work when necessary due to time or place—but not regularly.
May Hashem grant you success to share good news soon.
Blessings,
In the name of the Rebbe Shlita

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that spiritual growth requires both heartfelt prayer and diligent study of Chassidus, guided by experienced mentors. Outreach efforts are always fruitful, but one should balance personal development with communal responsibilities according to one's abilities.
