Shalom u'Vrachah!

It has been a very long time since I have received any news from you, and may it be G‑d's will that this is a clear sign that everything is in order and at peace.

In your last letter you also mentioned ... shiy' and surely you have remained connected with him since then, encouraging him from time to time regarding the inner point within him. It is already well known the saying of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, about why Bnei Yisrael are called "a fountain of gardens, a well of living waters," for the Holy One blessed be He says: "You shall be a desirable land." As is known, in every place in the land there are living waters; there are places where they bubble up on their own upon the surface of the earth, and there are places where they are beneath the ground but not deep and can easily be revealed and brought from concealment to revelation; and there are places where they are deep and one must remove stones and earth etc. in order for them to be revealed upon the surface—the analogy is understood.

Surely you participated in the farbrengen of the days of the month of redemption—Kislev—and especially on the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev, and may it be G‑d's will that this joy continues throughout the entire year.
