נעם לי להוודע ע"ד ההתועדות שהיתה בי"ט כסלו, חג הגאולה של רבינו הזקן בעל התניא (פוסק בנסתר דתורה) והשולחן ערוך (פוסק בנגלה דתורה) ובטח השתמשו בשעת הכושר של ההתועדות - ועל פי מרז"ל, גדולה לגימה שמקרבת - לקרב את המתועדים עוד יותר ויותר לתורה ולמצוותי'.
ואם על כל השנה כולה קאי מארז"ל דאני ישנה בגלותא ולבי ער להקב"ה לתורתו ולמצוותיו, על אכו"כ בימי סגולה, כשפותחים - על ידי תעמולה מתאימה - באיש הישראלי, אפילו כחודה של מחט, הקב"ה פותח כפתחו של אולם, וכמבואר בדא"ח הדיוק בזה שלאולם לא היו דלתות ובמילא תמיד הי' פתוח ובלבד שישתדלו להכנס לעזרה, והרי גם בין עזרת ישראל וכהנים לא היתה מחיצה מפסקת אף שצריכים היו לעלות במעלות מזו לזו, והנמשל מובן.

I was pleased to learn about the farbrengen that took place on Yud Tes Kislev, the festival of liberation of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya (the authority in the hidden aspects of Torah) and Shulchan Aruch (the authority in the revealed aspects of Torah). Certainly, you made use of the opportunity at the farbrengen—as our Sages say: 'Great is hospitality that brings people closer'—to draw those present even more to Torah and its mitzvos.
If throughout the entire year our Sages say 'I am asleep in exile but my heart is awake to the Holy One Blessed be He, to His Torah and His mitzvos,' how much more so during auspicious days. When one opens—even with a minimal effort—in a Jewish person, even as small as the eye of a needle, G‑d opens for him an opening as wide as a hall. As explained in Chassidus regarding this: a hall had no doors and was therefore always open; one only needed to make an effort to enter the courtyard. And even between the Israelite section and that of the Kohanim there was no separating partition—though one still needed to ascend steps from one to another. The lesson is clear.
