In connection with the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev, enclosed is the booklet published for this festival of our redemption and the liberation of our soul.

In recent days, Rabbi Hutner visited me, and we had lengthy and brief discussions regarding the Encyclopedic Talmudic Project as well as his other initiatives. I also shared my opinion with him—aligned with your own—that if work on writing entries is undertaken here as well, even though they would later be sent to you, there is reason to say that not only would this not lessen the workload, but on the contrary, it could cause confusion due to differing opinions, etc. I saw that he did not accept this. However, since he did not share his inner reasoning—which relates to assistance connected with organizing matters as above—I did not press further on this issue.

Incidentally, he told me that it may become necessary to consider a second edition of the encyclopedia. His comments on what is essential in his view are that both the paper and binding should be better than before; this is an expense that helps increase revenue...
