לאחרי שתיקתם הארוכה סו"ס נתקבל מכתביהם מכ"ד תשרי וי"ב מ"ח - שארך זמן הילוכם יותר על הרגיל - ות"ח על כתבם עכ"פ באיחור זמן ובטח על להבא יכתבו בעתו ובזמנו ובפרטיות המתאימה ע"ד פעולותיהם הטובות בהפצת היהדות בכלל ובעבודה בשדה וכרם חב"ד בפרט והשי"ת יזכם לבשר טוב מהגדלת הענינים הן בכמות והן באיכות.
בודאי ניצלו לפעולות בהנ"ל גם ימי הסגולה יו"ד וי"ט כסלו וכן גם ימי חנוכה הבע"ל, ואם על כל השנה כולה קאי מרז"ל דאני ישנה בגלותא ולבי ער להקב"ה לתורתו ומצותיו, עאכו"כ בימי סגולה, כשפותחים - ע"י תעמולה מתאימה - באיש הישראלי אפילו כחודה של מחט פותח הקב"ה כפתחו של אולם, וכמבואר בדא"ח הדיוק בזה שלאולם לא היו דלתות ובמילא הי' תמיד פתוח ובלבד שישתדלו להכנס לעזרה, והרי גם בין עזרת ישראל וכהנים לא היתה מחיצה מפסקת אף שצריכים היו לעלות במעלות מזו לזו, והנמשל מובן.

After your long silence, your letters from the 24th of Tishrei and the 12th of Marcheshvan have finally arrived—their journey took longer than usual. Thank you for writing, even if belatedly. Surely in the future you will write at the proper time with appropriate detail about your good activities in spreading Judaism in general and especially in the work of Chabad. May Hashem grant you merit to share good news about increasing these matters both in quantity and quality.
Certainly you utilized for these activities as well the auspicious days of Yud and Yud-Tes Kislev, as well as the upcoming days of Chanukah. If our Sages say regarding the entire year that "I am asleep in exile but my heart is awake to Hashem, to His Torah and mitzvos," how much more so during auspicious times—when with proper effort even a small opening by a Jew is met by Hashem opening an entrance as wide as a hall. As explained in Chassidus: a hall had no doors and was always open; one only needed to strive to enter the courtyard. Even between the Israelites' section and that of the Kohanim there was no separating wall—though one had to ascend steps from one to another—and the analogy is clear.
