Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter in which you write that you suffer from your speech preceding your thought—that is, you are unsettled.

It is already known the saying of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya—the halachic authority in the hidden dimension of Torah—and the Shulchan Aruch—the halachic authority in the revealed dimension of Torah—on the verse "Va'avadtem meheira me'al ha'aretz hatovah asher Hashem noten lachem" ("You will quickly perish from upon the good land that Hashem gives you"): The desire and yearning in serving Hashem (in general, and especially in Torah study) is a "good land," and it must be "va'avadtem meheira," to rid oneself of haste and hurry in this, and to learn pleasantly, delighting the soul with the sweetness of Hashem—see Sefer HaSichos 5700 p. 59. When one reflects on this a few times, it will certainly help him correct what was mentioned above and study with calmness.

May Hashem grant you enthusiasm to study with dedication both in Nigleh (the revealed Torah) and Chassidus, to fulfill mitzvos beautifully, and to begin work in prayer.

With blessings for success and all good.

In the name of the Rebbe shlita, Mazkir

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that by studying Torah slowly and savoring its sweetness, one can calm an unsettled mind and delight the soul. Reflection on this approach brings tranquility and deeper connection to learning and mitzvos.
