In response to your question in your letter of the 23rd of Menachem Av regarding the methods of studying the laws and the ways to learn the craft of shochet u'bodek (ritual slaughterer and inspector), and how to divide time for this: You should consult with the elder chassidim present locally who know the conditions of the place and your abilities. However, according to what is brought in the poskim and in Shulchan Aruch by our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, as well as in tzt"z responsa, a shochet u'bodek must be extremely G‑d-fearing. All the more so, you should increase your study of Chabad Chasidus, which brings to fear of Hashem—both lower fear and higher fear that is rooted in wisdom within the soul—as explained in Tanya in many places. The preparation for this, and the vessel to receive all this, is through proper prayer. When you truly desire it, you will succeed.
