Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 7th of Tammuz, in which you write that you have entered into a conditional engagement with B.G. tichyeh. May it be the will of Hashem that it be at an auspicious and successful time for an everlasting edifice on the foundations of Torah and mitzvah as illuminated by the light within Torah—namely, the teachings of Chassidus.
In reply to your question regarding my opinion about the suggestion that after your wedding (may it be at a good and successful time) you live in a room you have in the courtyard while the kitchen is outside and far from your room, which B.G. tichyeh feels is not modest: In matters such as these—and as it is written, Kol Kevudah Bas Melech Penimah ("All the honor of a king's daughter is within")—one must take her view into account and seek a suitable apartment. Whoever provides for all other expenses should also provide for this, since it is to fulfill her wish in matters of modesty, all the more so concerning Jewish daughters.
Certainly you will establish a regular study session in Chassidus—the inner dimension of Torah called in Zohar HaKadosh "Nishmata d'Oraysa" (the soul of Torah)—which will also add vitality to your study of Nigleh (the revealed part) of Torah. May Hashem grant you success.
With blessings for Mazal Tov.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that one should prioritize their wife's perspective regarding modesty in living arrangements and seek appropriate solutions. He also encourages establishing regular study sessions in Chassidus to enhance all areas of Torah learning.
