I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 2nd of Adar Sheni... It is surprising that you do not mention the information I received that you were chosen as chairman of Agudath Israel in Cincinnati. If this is true, then certainly your ability to influence our community in matters of Torah and mitzvos in general, and especially in matters of Chassidus—its teachings and customs—has grown.

Although approaches differ from place to place, in every location there are suitable methods through which the teachings of Chassidus can penetrate the area and its inhabitants. Our master, the Alter Rebbe, assures us with his explanation on "Tzedakah teromem goy" (charity elevates a nation), that it uplifts all levels within the soul as explained at the beginning of Torah Or. Although there he discusses material charity, this serves as a paradigm for spiritual charity as well; therefore, it also brings increased blessing and success regarding the education of one's children.

The pidyon nefesh enclosed in your letter will be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal. May Hashem grant you success to share good news in all the above.
