במענה על מכתבו - בלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - וכן על מכתב זוגתו תחי'. וויל איך ווידערהאלען מיין מיינונג וואס איך האב שוין געשריבען, אז מיין מיינונג וועגען אוועקפארען פון פאריז און בפרט ווען מען איז פארבונדען מיט דער ישיבה, איז שוין באוואוסט. און דאס וואס איר ווילט ארויסבאקומען פון מיר א הסכמה צו פארען אין [א] אנדער ארט מאטערען זיך, ווען דאס איז אפילו אמעריקא אדער קאנאדע, איז דאס ניט מיין ענין.
עס וואלט געווען כדאי אז איר זאלט זיך צונויפשרייבען מיט די וועלכע זיינען געקומען מיט מאנאטען צוריק אהער און בעטען זיי אז זיי זאלן שרייבען דעם אמת וואס עס טוט זיך מיט זיי דא, צו וואס האבען זיי זיך געיאגט און וואס האבען זיי אויפגעטאן אין די חדשים וואס זיי געפינען זיך דא, אויסער דעם וואס זיי קענען שרייבען אז זיי געפינען זיך אין אמעריקא, וואס לויט מיין מיינונג איז דאס ניט נאר ווייט פון יוקר מצד התורה נאר אויך מצד פשוט'ן שכל אנושי.
דאס וואס איר שרייבט אז די באציהונג פון דער ישיבה צו אייער ארבעט איז ניט ווי געהעריג, און במילא האט איר ניט גענוג ארבעט, און אויך אז עס איז שווער צו פארגרעסערן די ישיבה, איז די עצה אויף דעם, ניט דער אוועק לויפן פון פאריז און מאטערן זיך אין א אנדער ארט.
און עס איז שוין צייט אז יעדער וועלכער האט א שייכות צו נשיאנו רבוה"ק זאל אויסניצען זיינע כחות און טאן דאס וואס איז ארויפגעלייגט געווארען אויף עם מיט אמת'קייט, וואס דאן וועט דאס זיכער זיין מיט הצלחה, און וועט בריינגען א בעסערונג אין געזונט ניט נאר ברוחניות נאר טאקע אויך בגשמיות.
און השי"ת זאל העלפען אז איר מיט אייער פרוי תחי' זאלן באשליסן ווי עס איז באמת גוט פאר אייך בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

In response to your letter—without indication of when it was written—as well as your wife's letter. I wish to repeat my opinion, which I have already written: my view regarding leaving Paris, especially when one is connected with the yeshiva, is already known.
As for your desire to obtain my agreement to travel elsewhere—even if it is America or Canada—this is not my concern. It would be worthwhile for you to write together with those who arrived here months ago and ask them to write the truth about what is happening with them here: what they rushed into and what they have accomplished in the months they have been here—aside from being able to say they are in America—which in my opinion is not only far from valuable from a Torah perspective but also from simple human logic.
You write that the yeshiva's attitude toward your work is not as it should be, and therefore you do not have enough work; also that it is difficult to expand the yeshiva. The advice for this is not to run away from Paris and wander elsewhere.
It is time that everyone who has a connection to our Rebbeim should utilize their abilities and do what has been placed upon them with sincerity. Then this will surely be successful and bring improvement in health—not only spiritually but also physically.
May Hashem help that you and your wife decide what is truly good for you both materially and spiritually together.
