... וכאן מקום אתי להערה כללית, אשר אף כי מכל אנ"ש ובפרט מעסקני הצבור שביניהם, דורשים תקיפות בעמדה חזקה - א שטארקען שטעל - להגן על התורה ומצוה בכלל וחסידות בפרט בכל מקום שהם, אבל תמיד בכל זמן ובכל מקום יש להבחין ולהבדיל בזה בין הענינים שכנגדם צריך להתקומם, ובין האנשים שעמהם צריכים להתנהג בדרכי נועם ודרכי שלום, היינו - אף במקום שמוכרח לחוות דיעה גלוי' נגד איזה ענין, צריך להזהר בזה ככל האפשרי עד קצה האחרון מלפגוע בכבודו של מי שהוא, ומלבד שידוע מרז"ל יתמו חטאים ולא חוטאים, הנה זה תועלת בהמלחמה ומקרב הנצחון של הענין שעליו מגינים ונלחמים, כיון שגם הצד השני רואה בעליל שאין כאן כוונה למעט בדמות אישים, נאר מען מיינט דעם אמת, ובודאי האריכות בזה אך למותר, כי הענין ברור למדי.
בברכת הצלחה בעבודתו בקדש ואשר תהי' ההצלחה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

And here is the place for a general remark: although from all of Anash, and especially from those active in public affairs among them, strong resolve is demanded—a shtarken shtel—to defend Torah and mitzvah in general and Chassidus in particular wherever they are, nevertheless, always at all times and in all places one must distinguish and differentiate between the matters that must be opposed and the people with whom one must behave with pleasantness and peaceful ways. That is—even where it is necessary to express an open opinion against some matter, one must be as careful as possible, to the utmost degree, not to harm anyone's honor. Besides what our Sages said: Yitamu chata'im v'lo chot'im ("Let sins cease but not sinners"), this also benefits the struggle and brings victory closer for the cause being defended and fought for, since the other side clearly sees there is no intention to diminish any person's stature—only that the truth is meant. And certainly further elaboration on this is unnecessary since the matter is quite clear.
