מאשר הנני בזה קבלת מכתבו ממחרת יום הכיפורים תשי"ג. ואף שאין הזמן גרמא כלל לאריכות, בכ"ז באתי בהערה, במה שהעיר מענין הברכות, שהברכות המפרטות יותר חשובות יותר. אבל לפי ענ"ד אינו שייך לנידון דידן, והוא מובן על פי החילוק שבין ברכת הנהנין וההודאה, שאם אינו מודה אלא על המעלה הכללית המשותפת שיש לכמה ענינים ולא גם על המעלה המיוחדת שבדבר זה בפרט, הרי אינו מכיר בטובתו של הקב"ה כדבעי. ולכן ברכה המפורטת יותר חשובה יותר, כי בזה מראה לדעת שמכיר הוא בהסגולה המיוחדת שבמין זה מהסוג הכללי. מה שאין כן בענין ברכת תפלה, ברכה מלשון המשכה, כמו ברכת השנה וכו', הרי אם ממשיכים את הכלל כולו, הכולל בתוכו כל הפרטים, יש בכלל מאתים מנה.

I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the day after Yom Kippur 5713. Although this is not a time for lengthy discussion at all, nevertheless I am writing a comment regarding what you noted about blessings—that more detailed blessings are more important.
However, in my humble opinion this does not apply to our case. This is understood based on the distinction between blessings of enjoyment and those of thanksgiving: if one only gives thanks for the general quality shared by several things and not also for the unique quality of this particular thing, then he does not truly recognize the goodness of the Holy One Blessed be He as he should. Therefore, a more detailed blessing is indeed more important because it shows that one recognizes the unique virtue in this specific type within the general category.
This is not so regarding prayer blessings—blessings in the sense of drawing down (hamshachah), such as Birkat HaShanah (the blessing for the year), etc.—for if one draws down the general category that includes all particulars within it, then "the greater sum contains the lesser."
The distinction between blessings of enjoyment and prayer blessings according to Chassidus is explained in Biurei HaZohar vol. 5 at the beginning of Parshat Eikev.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that specifying details in blessings expresses deeper gratitude and awareness of G‑d's kindness. However, in prayer blessings that draw down general abundance, including all particulars suffices. Understanding these distinctions enhances our appreciation for both types of blessing.
