יש אצלי עג"נ מהידיעה שקבלתי שידידינו הרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א וכו' ר'... שי' נאסרו, ומאז אין לי כל ידיעה.
בטח משתדלים בזה כפי האפשריות, ומטובו להודיעני מהנעשה בזה ומהמצב עתה, ותקותי חזקה אשר בימי הרחמים האלה ועפ"י פסק הדין דמאן דאית לי' דינא וכו' זאל זיין אין חודש הרחמים, ישחררו את הנ"ל ולא יהי' מזה עג"נ.

I am greatly distressed by the news I received that our friend, Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a etc. Reb ... was arrested, and since then I have had no further information. Surely you are making every possible effort in this matter, and I ask you to inform me of what is being done and the current situation. My strong hope is that during these days of mercy, and based on the halachic ruling of 'man de'it lei dina...' (one who has a judgment...), it should be in the month of mercy that those mentioned will be released and there will no longer be any distress over this.
I await good news from you in general, and especially regarding this matter.
