In response to your letter: Regarding your trip, surely your brother has already told you that since you have already done this based on the advice of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, and as I recall he instructed you then to strive in the places where you would be to work on strengthening Judaism, proper education, and similar matters—if this time as well you are traveling with this intent, then this too falls under the agreement of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m from then.
You and your family were mentioned at the gravesite of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, and Hashem fulfills the blessings of tzaddikim—that everything should be proper in its time. Surely you will inform me from time to time about your good welfare.
Regarding what you wrote that unfortunately you have not set a fixed time for study: Why "unfortunately"? Would it not be better to set a fixed time? Then you would gain two things: establishing a fixed study session and avoiding regret. After all, a person is not even permitted to harm himself. Perhaps at least each one will learn on his own.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that travel for strengthening Judaism should align with previous guidance from one's mentor. He emphasizes setting fixed times for Torah study as both spiritually beneficial and emotionally uplifting.
