Enclosed is the booklet for the Festival of Redemption, 12–13 Tammuz, may it come upon us for good. Surely you will merit to share it with all those around you without distinction of type, in accordance with the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, in his letter (printed in Kuntres 59 p. 27) about this redemption: "Not only me did the Holy One Blessed be He redeem on Yud-Beis Tammuz, but also all who love our holy Torah, those who observe mitzvos, and even those who are merely called by the name 'Israel.'" In this are included all types of Jewish men and women: those who have Torah and mitzvos; those who have either Torah or mitzvos; those who have neither Torah nor mitzvos but are simply called by the name Israel.

As is known, a nickname is a term or name that conceals and covers over the essence of the one called by it—sometimes it is not even their real name, nor an abbreviation or explanation of their name, nor even in the language by which they are called; sometimes it is not even a nickname from themselves but only from their family (see Vayikra Rabbah ch. 30:12; Tikunei Zohar p. 15a; Meorei Or vol. 20 p. 25; Shulchan Aruch Even HaEzer sec. 129:16 and commentaries; Kava Venaki klal lamed-chet; Sdei Chemed Asifas Dinim maareches Get sec. 67; Maamar Yud-Tes Kislev Hashem yisborach – Kuntres Ayin-Gimmel ch. 2).

Not only should you merit many with this booklet but also—as our Sages require in Mechilta on "You shall set before them"—explain to each person that the main thing is to bring the teaching into practical action for each individual according to their situation: in intellect, emotions, etc.

This vitality and strength is also received from the head of the generation—the Nasi HaDor—my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m—as written in the introduction to the booklet: from the Nasi we receive nurture and vitality for all our matters from all qualities enumerated in him: self-sacrifice (Keter), genius (intellect), possessor of positive traits (Chagat Nehi—the main attributes), tzaddik (Yesod), ruach hakodesh (Malchut), accustomed to miracles and more (from Chidushim U’Biurim). The ability for all this has been given to us; we desire all this—and when there is willpower—nothing stands before will.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that every Jew is included in redemption and urges us to share its message widely without distinction. By internalizing these lessons and acting on them with true desire, we can reach every Jew and accomplish great things.
