B"H, 19 Sivan, Hash-yit vavach iy"a num etc. Mr. Moshe Prager
Shalom u'Vrachah!
My friend Dr. Yaakov Grifel informed me of the content of your first letter that reached him.
Indeed, it is good news that you share in your aforementioned letter, that you see signs of blessing in your efforts to positively influence those who can acquire for themselves—and bring to many—their world in a single moment.
But even though your hopes are strong to see in the future the fruits of your actions, you surely remember the content of our conversation during your visit here, where I emphasized that ultimately the main thing is action and actual implementation, and one must know an accurate accounting of what has been accomplished in practice.
Regarding all this, and especially about the current situation concerning Judaism and education in the immigrant camps, you write nothing. Relying on what you said during our conversation, I will repeat my request from then: despite your preoccupations and business, try to find out the details about this matter and inform me of the situation without embellishment or whitewashing—even not out of Ahavas Yisrael—because for decisions regarding how to relate to questions connected with the above camps, every clear and detailed piece of information is important to me.
I have heard it told that once the author of Chiddushei HaRim said to his chassidim: If I do not effect even a small amount of Judaism within you, how great will be the pity on me—as it is written: 'VaYera LeMoshe Ba'avuram' ("And it was bad for Moshe because of them"). Something similar applies to anyone who can influence another Jew—directly or indirectly—to strengthen him in Judaism or bring him to action in strengthening Judaism; he must know clearly that his success in this is his own happiness and mission as an influencer, and therefore he should strive as required.
And according to the words of my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m: It is certain regarding work done for holiness that it does not return empty-handed.
With blessing and hoping to receive good news,
Rabbi Menachem Schneerson

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that influencing others toward Judaism is both a privilege and responsibility. He urges practical action and honest reporting about Jewish life and education—especially in challenging environments—so that effective decisions can be made for communal benefit.
