Rosh Hashanah

A. The approach towards deep contemplation during prayer on Rosh Hashanah is central. The aim is to reach a level of introspection where one's inner service to Hashem is awakened, drawing from deep within their soul. This involves recognizing Hashem's kingship in a personal and internal way.

B. The significance of blowing the shofar should be understood as a catalyst for this inner awakening. It is not merely about observance but about allowing the sound to penetrate one's heart, stirring a profound connection to the divine.

C. In this context, each mitzvah performed on Rosh Hashanah takes on additional depth, acting as expressions of submission and dedication to God's will. This involves not just acceptance but active participation in bringing the divine presence into one's life.

D. Emphasized further is the idea that prayer should involve both exertion in understanding and emotion, aiming for genuine transformation. This ensures that one's actions align with their innermost beliefs and commitments.

E. Through this understanding, one realizes that the service on Rosh Hashanah transcends mere ritual; it becomes an ongoing journey of self-improvement and spiritual elevation.
