Shmuel Liubashitzki was a respected individual who served as a prayer leader during the Days of Awe at the Lubavitch synagogue in Lubavitch. He is noted for his involvement in communal religious life and for his acts of charity, as referenced in the correspondence with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

Correspondence with the Rebbe

The Lubavitcher Rebbe addressed Shmuel Liubashitzki in a letter dated 27 Tishrei, 5715 (1954), expressing pleasure upon learning that Liubashitzki had led the congregation in prayer during the High Holy Days. The Rebbe cited the teaching of the Sages, "Honor Hashem with your wealth (mehonecha); do not read mehonecha but rather migroncha (with your voice)," highlighting the dual importance of serving G-d both through prayer—using one's voice and melody—and through material means.

The Rebbe also commended Liubashitzki for fulfilling the mitzvah of tzedakah by donating a sum to charity, specifically to a "secret fund," which the Rebbe described as one of the highest forms of charity. The tone of the letter is warm and encouraging, with the Rebbe blessing Liubashitzki and his wife with all that they need, both materially and spiritually, as a result of their devotion in both prayer and acts of kindness.
