Shalom u'Vrachah!

After the long pause, even though in the meantime I requested that regards be conveyed to Mr. Uri Tzvi and I hope they were delivered in time, I received an unpleasant surprise that his health was not as it should be. My hope is that by the time this letter reaches you there has already been improvement, and may it be G‑d's will that your condition continues to improve until you have a complete recovery.

The merit of the many—whom you are able and empowered to benefit by bringing their hearts closer to our Father in Heaven, Healer of all flesh Who works wonders—through your talents with which you have been endowed and have already demonstrated your ability and influence on public opinion, especially among select individuals from the community—will surely stand by you. May you continue and increase this work with health, joy, and gladness of heart. This strength is reinforced and established through faith in the power of the Jewish people, a wise and understanding nation. Yet the evil inclination finds many agents who entice, confuse, and blur all values—especially the spiritual and eternal values of our people and its eternal Torah. Therefore, the role of one who awakens others is only to remove the covering—in the language of Scripture: a storm wind and a great cloud etc.—which in truth have no substance at all; just like darkness has no substance at all and is automatically dispelled by light (Tanya ch. 29).

I await good news that your health continues to improve satisfactorily—especially as we enter the month in which we increase in joy—and I conclude with honor and blessing.

M. Schneersohn
