Shalom u'Vrachah!
... Regarding the matter you asked about – I have already answered this elsewhere and surely it has also reached you. The point is: power and action, inner and outer aspects – are not at all identical.
The idea that tzimtzum should be understood literally because He is omnipotent does not contradict at all the command "Know the G‑d of your father" etc., nor the avodah in Chabad – just as there is no contradiction from the concept of creation ex nihilo which is a constant act and remains incomprehensible etc.
And until the unity of Ein Sof: this cannot be grasped intellectually... The essence of tzimtzum etc., just as... the essence of creation etc.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that power and action, as well as inner and outer aspects, are fundamentally different. Understanding G‑d's ability to contract Himself does not conflict with our obligation to know Him or with Chabad teachings on creation and Divine unity.
