Shalom u'Vrachah!
As Pesach, the season of our freedom, approaches for us and all Israel for good and blessing, I wish you and all those with you, among all Israel, a kosher and happy Pesach and true freedom—freedom from all matters that confuse both body and soul. From personal freedom to communal freedom: may you use your responsible position for the benefit of a holy nation dwelling in the Holy Land to realize the concept of Exodus from Egypt in our days—a departure and liberation from constraints (with a komatz under the tzadi) and pressures from within and without—until the prophecy is fulfilled: "And I will grant peace in the land," true peace; as it is written: "And Israel shall dwell securely alone—the eye of Yaakov—upon a land of grain and wine... a people saved by Hashem... and you will tread upon their high places" (Berachah [33] 28-29).
With honor and blessing.
P.S. It is certainly unnecessary to stress the special importance I attribute to your visit, along with my thanks for delaying your trip for this meeting. My strong hope—based on what I have heard many times from my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—is that when two Jews meet there is hope, and they must strive that some benefit comes to another Jew as a result. Your interest in the matters we discussed was certainly no surprise to me. Yet even in interest there are many levels; I was especially impressed by its depth etc., which surely expresses itself in practical action. My sincere thanks in advance if at an appropriate opportunity you inform me about further developments regarding the matters and issues we discussed.
It is unfortunate that apparently the possibility for propaganda etc. in Egyptian rear areas is becoming more difficult (due to Soviet infiltration there), but hopefully at least this opportunity will be utilized as much as possible. Likewise regarding relations between the Kurds and Iraq's government—as long as their recently established peace remains very fragile. Please forgive my comments on these matters.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true freedom encompasses both body and soul, urging leaders to use their influence for communal good. Every meeting between Jews should yield benefit for others, highlighting responsibility toward fellow Jews and practical action inspired by deep concern.
