התניא מתורגם איטלקית כבר בכריכתו. ובודאי קבלו גם כת"ר – ממילאן, ומובטחני שהי' לו קורת רוח גדולה לראות כי השתדלותו בזה הביאה פרי טוב, שלא רק יצא לפועל, אלא גם יצא יפה בחיצוניות, אף שלא ידוע לי דרגת החיצוניות באיטלי' בספרים כגון זה. ותקוותי שגם ההעתקה מתאימה לרוח יהודי איטלי'.
וזוהי אחת הסיבות שנתעכב האישור על מכתבו, כי קויתי מיום ליום שאקבל ס' התניא הנ"ל ואוכל להודיעו על דבר זה. ואתו רב הסליחה על האיחור באישור מכתבו. ועוד הפעם אודה לו בעד השתדלותו בהאמור.
היום קבלתי ג"כ ידיעה באריכות ממילאן שהפרופסור קולומבו הבטיח לכתוב "בקורת" בקשר עם הופעת ס' התניא בתרגומו לאיטלקית בכ"ע המתאימים באיטלי'.
בנוגע מה שכתב בענין תשלום לפרופ'.

In these days I received the Italian translation of the Tanya already bound. Surely the group from Milan also received it, and I am certain that it brought great satisfaction to see that your efforts bore good fruit—not only was it published, but it also came out beautifully in its external appearance, even though I am not familiar with the standards of bookbinding in Italy for such works. I hope as well that the translation matches the spirit of Italian Jewry.
This is one of the reasons my acknowledgment of your letter was delayed; I hoped each day to receive this Tanya so I could inform you about it. Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in acknowledging your letter.
Once again, I thank you for your efforts regarding this matter. Today I also received a detailed report from Milan that Professor Colombo promised to write a review concerning the appearance of the Tanya in its Italian translation in appropriate Italian publications.
Regarding what you wrote about payment for Professor Colombo, I have passed this on to Milan since I do not know what sums are involved; therefore nothing has been written until now. If you have any comments or thoughts on this matter, please let me know in advance. Perhaps this too is included in our Sages' saying: "When one begins a mitzvah, he is told to complete it."
It is surprising that I have not heard anything from you regarding what we discussed during your visit here about participating in printing expenses for Toratan Shel Rishonim, which your group is involved with. As far as I recall, we spoke that by Tishrei you would inform me about this. In all such matters (publicizing the teachings of earlier sages as if they were angels), the sooner the better—especially with your group which has shown by experience that when a book is printed in this field, preparations immediately begin for another book.
