אחרי ההפסק הכי ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מה-5 ליאנואר. ומובן אשר אם תזדמן הצעה שלהשערתי מתאימה, יהי' הענין שמור בזכרוני ואודיע לו. ברם מוכרחני לומר שבכלל אין פונים אלי בענינים אלה אלא לאחר שיש כבר הצעה ושואלים דעתי אם מתאים הדבר. אבל, כאמור, אשמור את הדבר.
בהזדמנות זו אביע תקותי שבמשך הזמן פירסם מרעיונותיו ומחשבותיו בשטח הדת והמדע, ובפרט בנוגע העמדה המיוסדת על הטעות כאילו המדע שולל כמה וכמה ענינים בתורה ושהמדע בכלל יכול לקבוע ענינים באופן קטגורי ובודאות מוחלטת וכולי. ומובן שיענין אותי לראות פרסומים אלו אם יש לו מן המוכן.
דרך אגב, בכמה הזדמנויות בעבר, כשפנו אלי בשאלות מהסוג האמור, הוריתי להשואלים לעיין בספרו על המדע והיהדות למצוא שם מענה על כמה משאלותיהם, ובפרט שיש מראה מקומות וציונים לספרי מדע של אנשי שם.
כ' לא מזכיר ע"ד שאר עניניו הפרטים, סימן שהכל בסדר.

After the longest pause, your letter from January 5 was received. Of course, if a proposal comes up that I think is suitable, I will keep it in mind and let you know. However, I must say that generally people only approach me about these matters after there is already an offer and they ask my opinion if it is appropriate. But as mentioned, I will keep this in mind.
On this occasion, I express my hope that over time you will publish your ideas and thoughts in the field of religion and science—especially regarding the position based on the mistaken notion that science contradicts many matters in Torah or that science can determine matters categorically and with absolute certainty, etc. Naturally, I would be interested to see such publications if you have any ready.
Incidentally, on several occasions in the past when people approached me with questions of this type, I directed them to consult your book on science and Judaism to find answers to some of their questions—particularly since it contains references and citations to scientific works by renowned figures.
You do not mention anything about your other personal matters; this is a sign that all is well.
