Shalom u'Vrachah!

As we approach the auspicious days of 12–13 Tammuz, may it be G‑d's will that these days—remembered and reenacted—arouse within each of us, among all of Israel, an inner and powerful desire to utilize to the fullest every opportunity and strength granted from Above, following the example of the Baal HaGeulah (the one redeemed), whose merit should protect us and all Israel.

This very awakening itself reveals additional strengths and possibilities. And even if there are difficulties—some quite real—the lesson from these days is not to be intimidated by any obstacle or hindrance.

Go and learn: if one man—even though he was exalted above the people—stood up with his full stature against a hostile and oppressive government and triumphed in every area he fought for, to the extent that in some matters not only did they reluctantly agree but even assisted him, how much more so for us who have merited to act under incomparably easier conditions—especially since the path has already been paved for us. When the great ones of Israel open the path and channel, it enables many to follow their example and succeed.

Despite changes and distractions that have occurred since last year, I am certain you are interested in knowing what is happening regarding various projects in "Chabad research," printing, etc. Enclosed are copies from this year; naturally, the main topics are those connected with Rabbeinu HaZaken (the Alter Rebbe) and his matters—as this year marks one hundred fifty years since his passing-hilulah—and it is a special year.

It should be noted that Project 2 of the Chabad Research Center was initiated at your suggestion. As for the major project regarding "the Seven Generations of Chabad," I am confident that Rabbeinu HaZaken's merit will also stand by this so there will be good prospects until actual fulfillment.
