נודעתי מאנ"ש שי' שחוגגים יום הולדתו למלאות לו חמש ושבעים שנה, לאורך ימים ושנים טובות. והנני לאחל לו כל טוב. וכמו שדברנו, ענין הטוב הוא לכל לראש בטוב הנגלה ובריאות הנכונה וכו', אבל יחד עם זה הרי עמנו ישראל הוא גוי אחד בארץ המאחד גשמיות ורוחניות כאחד, ואין טוב אלא תורה. ויהי רצון שמתוך בריאות הנכונה ובמרץ המתאים ינצל השפעתו לעשות עירו מקום תורה בכל הפרטים ופרטי פרטים.

I have learned from Anash sheyichyu that you are celebrating your birthday, reaching seventy-five years—may you have long and good years. I wish you all the best.
As we discussed, goodness is first and foremost revealed good and proper health, etc., but at the same time our people Israel is a unique nation in the land that unites materiality and spirituality as one—and there is no good except Torah.
May it be G‑d's will that with proper health and fitting energy you utilize your influence to make your city a place of Torah in every detail and particular. In the language of Scripture—Echad hayah Avraham veyirash et ha'ir ("Abraham was one and he inherited the city").
In closing similar to the opening, I wish you a year of success and fruitful work, along with thanks for your help in Chabad matters—which surely you will continue to increase ever more.
