על ידי הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א מלאכתו מלאכת שמים בעל מרץ ובעל מדות וכו' מוה"ר אהרן מרדכי שי' זילברשטרום נתקבל ספרו "שכונות בירושלים", ות"ח בעד שימת לבבו.
ובהמצאנו בימי חנוכה שמצותם להדליק נרות על פתח ביתו מבחוץ ובאופן דמוסיף והולך, יהי רצון שכל אחד מאתנו, בתוככי כלל ישראל, יעשה כל התלוי בו להפיץ אור האמתי, נר מצוה ותורה אור, באופן דמעלין בקדש. והרי זוהי גם כן נקודת תורת החסידות, המיוסדת על ג' האהבות, אהבת ה' אהבת התורה ואהבת ישראל, ועל פי הסיסמא של האגרת הידועה של הבעל שם טוב - יפוצו מעינותיך חוצה. והדיוק וההדגשה בזה: א) הפצה במקום שהתורה מעידה עליו שהוא עדין "חוצה", ב) הפצת המעינות דוקא, מקור מים חיים בטהרתם, ג) ולא ברמז, או טיפין טיפין, אלא באופן דהפצה ושפע רב. והרי אין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו ואינו מבקש אלא לפי כוחו של כל אחד ואחד, משמע שדרישת התורה היא בגדר היכולת, ולא עוד אלא שציווי הבורא הוא גם נתינת כח.

Through Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a whose work is heavenly work, energetic and with good character traits etc., our teacher Aharon Mordechai Zilbershtrum, may he live, I received his book "Neighborhoods in Jerusalem," and thank you for your attention.
As we find ourselves in the days of Chanukah, whose mitzvah is to light candles at the entrance of one's house facing outward and in a manner of increasing light each day, may it be G‑d's will that each of us, within all of Israel, does all that is in his power to spread true light—the candle of mitzvah and the light of Torah—in a manner of ascending in holiness.
This is also the essence of Chassidus, which is founded on three loves: love of G‑d, love of Torah, and love of Israel; and according to the slogan from the well-known letter of the Baal Shem Tov—Yafutzu Maayanotecha Chutzah ("Your wellsprings shall spread outward").
The precision and emphasis here are: a) spreading in a place that Torah itself testifies is still "outside"; b) spreading specifically the wellsprings—the pure source of living waters; c) not hinted or drop by drop but with abundant dissemination and flow.
For the Holy One does not come with unreasonable demands upon His creations and only asks according to each person's ability. This means that Torah's demand is within reach; moreover, when G‑d commands something He also grants the strength to fulfill it.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that especially during Chanukah we must increase our efforts to spread true spiritual light—Torah and mitzvos—and emphasizes that Chassidus calls for sharing its essence widely and abundantly with all Jews, each according to their ability.
