לאחר הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתבו מי"ז טבת.
ומובן שמעונין אני בהפרטים אודותם כותב, שהרי האדם וחייו מצטרפים מפרטים כאלו ואפילו הענינים הכי עיקרים, וכמו שנצטוינו על ענין האחדות כפשוטו, כך על האדם להשתדל שיהיו כל עניניו מאוחדים ועד ליחוד גמור ובסגנון חז"ל [אשר כללו כללים גדולים בפתגם קצר, איזוהי פרשה קטנה שכל גופי תורה תלוים בה] בכל דרכיך דעהו (ברכות ס"ג א) ועיין הביאור בזה בהלכות דיעות להמורה הגדול הוא הרמב"ם פס"ד הלכה בשו"ע או"ח סי' רל"א.
כמובן ביחוד נעם לי לקרות במכתבו ע"ד רצונו הטוב גם חזק לעלות במסילה העולה בית א-ל לימוד תורתנו הק' והנהגה מתאימה לזה, והובטחנו הבא לטהר מסייעין אותו.

After a long pause I received your letter from the 17th of Teves. Naturally, I am interested in the details you write about, for a person and his life are composed of such details—even the most essential matters. Just as we are commanded regarding unity in its literal sense, so too must a person strive to unify all his affairs until complete unity is achieved. In the style of our Sages—who encapsulated great principles in brief sayings: "Which is a small section upon which all fundamental principles of Torah depend?"—Bekhol Derakhekha Da'eihu ("In all your ways know Him") (Berachos 63a). See also the explanation of this in Hilchos De'os by the great teacher Rambam and the final ruling in Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim siman 231.
Of course, it was especially pleasant for me to read in your letter about your good will and strengthened resolve to ascend on the path leading to the House of G‑d—learning our holy Torah and behaving accordingly. It is assured that one who comes to purify himself is assisted.
In response to your questions: they are clarified in the legal rulings found in Shulchan Aruch.
