קבלתי מכתבו לחג החגים י"ט כסלו ובו מבקש ברכה.
והנה ידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אשר בברכה נאמר לשון גשמי ברכה, וכמו שגשם מועיל רק אם יורד הוא על שדה חרושה וזרועה, כך הוא גם בענין הברכה, שצ"ל מצד מקבל הברכה חרישה וזריעה, אלא שאח"ז הנה גם בזריעה הקטנה לפ"ע, ממשכת הברכה הצלחה גדולה ומופלגה.
ובנוגע לבני תורה ותלמידי הישיבות הנה החרישה היא שמירת סדרי הלימוד בדיוק בהישיבה, אף שלפעמים גורם זה מיעוט בשינה או באכילה ושתי', והעיקר היפך הרצון לעצלות ואי התמדה ואי שקידה. וזריעה היינו לימוד בשקידה והתמדה המתאימה. וכשישנה הכנה זו, אזי ממשכת הברכה הצלחה בהשכלה והבנה והשגה.
כשאהי' על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ, זי"ע אזכירו להצלחה בתלמוד תורה ביראת שמים, ובודאי הוא מצדו יעשה כהנ"ל.
בטח אומר הוא תהלים בכל יום כפי שנחלק לימי החודש, וגם לומד בכל יום הפרשה מסדרת השבוע עם פרש"י.
בברכה לתלמוד תורה ביראת שמים בהצלחה ובהתמדה.

מה שמאריך בתפלה ועי"ז חסר בלימוד כסדר הישיבה - הרי ימלא זה ובתוס' בשעות שאחרי הסדר.
בנוגע לבריאותו - ישמור הוראות הרופא, ויסיח דעת ממח' במצב הבריאות.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I received your letter for the festival of festivals, Yud-Tes Kislev, in which you request a blessing. It is known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, that regarding a blessing it is said "geshmi berachah" (material blessing), and just as rain is only beneficial if it falls on a plowed and sown field, so too with a blessing: there must be from the recipient's side plowing and sowing. Afterwards, even a small sowing according to one's ability draws down great and abundant success through the blessing.
Regarding bnei Torah and yeshivah students: plowing means keeping the study schedule precisely in yeshivah—even if this sometimes causes less sleep or eating and drinking—and mainly going against laziness or lack of diligence. Sowing means studying with appropriate diligence and persistence. When this preparation exists, then the blessing brings success in knowledge, understanding, and comprehension.
When I am at the Ohel of my father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal I will mention you for success in Torah study with fear of Heaven; certainly you will do as mentioned above.
Surely you recite Tehillim every day as divided for the days of the month and also learn each day the parshah from the weekly portion with Rashi's commentary.
Blessings for Torah study with fear of Heaven, success, and diligence.
