In response to your letter about printing a kuntres in memory of Rav Raud z"l, I have not answered until now because at present I do not have any kuntres available to print. Currently, the abbreviations and notes of the tzt"z on Tanya are at the printer, along with as an addition to them, notes from the Rebbe Admor HaRashab on certain chapters of Tanya (five pages), and writings from my father-in-law the Rebbe shlita about Tanya, etc. The book will be in the format of the small Tanya, approximately 170 pages. I do not know exactly the printing costs, but it is certainly not comparable to the sum found in the above-mentioned estate for this purpose.

Therefore there are two options: either to wait until there is a kuntres (in my opinion no later than Tishrei-Cheshvan), and then all copies printed will be dedicated in his memory; or to print from the above-mentioned book of abbreviations a number of copies dedicated in his memory according to the amount left for this purpose (an estimated 300-400 copies), and the rest will be dedicated by another donor.

Please inform me of your decision on this within the coming week, which is before completion of printing these abbreviations.

In the version you propose to print you also write the address of the donors; certainly, as is customary in America, this will increase those seeking assistance who will turn to you. I mention this only as a point for consideration.

The chassid etc. Reb M. HaKohen Dubinsky has already submitted his papers to the consulate.

To conclude with a matter of Torah: It happened that in connection with your letter received I saw in Iggeres HaKodesh (Dovid Zemiros), where it is written (160b): "The inner dimension of Torah is completely united with Or Ein Sof... and relative to Or Ein Sof all worlds are truly as nothing... also regarding inner Torah there is no forgetting... since they are truly insignificant," end quote. Seemingly, it should be the opposite: it should have said that relative to Or Ein Sof not [significant], but regarding Torah they are as nothing; further investigation is needed.

Just now it was given for publication: The sichah from Pesach this year. However, it will be printed in small format—like Purim 5701 or Yud Kislev 5707—and will be about 25-30 pages long. I am doubtful whether Rav Raud's family will be satisfied with such a booklet.
