Shalom u'Vrachah!
I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 13th and 20th of Menachem Av and your previous ones with their enclosures. As you requested, I am replying without waiting for your turn.
Regarding setting the wedding date, advancing it in such a case is certainly appropriate, and whatever you decide should be at a good and auspicious time in every detail.
About your writing regarding the shushvinin (wedding escorts), that there is an argument for one person, but on the other hand you have a reason for the opposite, and there is concern that otherwise it may offend certain people. In such cases—especially when it involves matters touching on the honor of a Jewish man or woman—it is customary to add more shushvinin to the couple; that is, three pairs circulate. Before Heaven it is known who are truly the two pairs of shushvinin. For this reason, all this should be done without emphasis.
Blessings for good news and also in general matters.
Summary
The Rebbe advises setting an early wedding date if possible and suggests tactfully adding more shushvinin to avoid offending anyone involved. Matters concerning personal honor should be handled with sensitivity and discretion.
