עס האט מיר געפרייט צו באקומען די מיטטיילונג וועגן דער פייערונג לכבוד דעם צען-יאריגען יובילעאום זינט אייער שול האט אויפגענומען אייער חשובען און ווירדיגען רב, הרה"ח וו"ח אי"א נו"מ עוסק בצ"צ בעל מדות ובעל מרץ וכו' הרב שלום דוב שי' גארדאן.
די פארערונג וואס איר ווייזט ארויס אייער רב גיט מיר די פעסטע האפנונג, אז איר וועט אויך ווייטער - און אין א גרעסערע מאס - שטיצן אים אין זיין ארבעט פאר דער אויפבליאונג פון אייער שול אלס - א סענטער פון תורה תפלה און צדקה, ווי עס ווערט אויסגעדריקט אין אייער צירקולאר, און פאר דער פארשטארקונג פון תורה אידישקייט אין דער גאנצער שטאט, וואס דאס איז דאך דער "כלל גדול" פון דער תורה - ואהבת לרעך כמוך.
און דאס איז אויך דער באגריף פון "צענטער" - דאס אינערלעכע וועזן פון דעם גאנצן ארום; וואס אן דעם ארום איז ניטא קיין צענטער, און אן דעם צענטער איז ניטא קיין ארום. במילא איז וויכטיג אז דער ארום זאל זיין צוגעפאסט צום צענטער, און דער צענטער זאל זיין באזירט אויף די דריי זאכן וואס די וועלט שטייט אויף זיי - תורה, עבודה (זו תפילה) און גמילות חסדים, צדקה, וואס אויף די דריי יסודות שטיצט זיך די גאנצע וועלט, סיי די גרויסע וועלט, סיי די קליינע וועלט (עולם קטן זה האדם), די וועלט פון יעדן יחיד.
איך ווינש אייך און אייער חשובען רב שי' פיל פיל יארן פון נאענטער צוזאמענארבעט צו פארשטארקען די דריי דערמאנטע יסודות פון אייער קאנגרעגיישאן און אייער שטאט בכלל; השם יתברך זאל אייך אלעמען באגליקן מיט ברכה והצלחה מחיל אל חיל בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive the notification about the celebration in honor of the tenth anniversary since your synagogue accepted your esteemed and worthy rabbi, Haraha"ch vavac"h iy"a nu"m engaged in tzt"z a man of character and energy etc. Rabbi Shalom Dov Gordon.
The honor you show your rabbi gives me firm hope that you will continue—and in even greater measure—to support him in his work for the flourishing of your synagogue as a center for Torah, prayer, and charity, as expressed in your circular, and for strengthening Torah and Judaism throughout your entire city. This is indeed the "great principle" of the Torah—VeAhavta LeRei'acha Kamocha ("Love your fellow as yourself").
This is also the concept of a "center"—the inner essence of everything around it; without this surrounding area there is no center, and without this center there is no surrounding area. Therefore it is important that the surroundings be suited to the center, and that the center be based on the three things upon which the world stands—Torah, avodah (which is prayer), and acts of kindness/charity. On these three foundations rests the entire world: both the great world at large and the small world (the microcosm that is each person), each individual's world.
I wish you and your esteemed rabbi many more years of close cooperation to strengthen these three mentioned foundations within your congregation and your city as a whole; may Hashem bless all of you with blessing and success from strength to strength in both material and spiritual matters together.
