Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter and pan from the 28th of Adar I: At an auspicious time, your mother will be mentioned for what she needs at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), in accordance with your letter's content.
It is clear and obvious that since you are making this request and you are a yeshiva student, you must increase your diligence and devotion in studying both Nigleh (the revealed part of Torah) and Chassidus, as well as enhance your observance of mitzvos. The better your situation is in these areas—especially since matters of goodness and holiness are always open to further growth because they are connected to Hashem Who is infinite—the more blessings from Hashem will be added to what you need and in fulfilling your request as mentioned above.
I hope it is unnecessary to point out how essential it is to study the inner dimension of Torah which in our generation has been revealed through Chassidus—especially in these days and particularly in Eretz HaKodesh—about which it is written: 'The eyes of Hashem your G‑d are upon it from the beginning of the year until year's end.' This applies especially to a yeshiva student who should spend all day within the four cubits of Torah and prayer. In particular regarding your above-mentioned need for a special blessing concerning health and healing, this is especially connected with learning this Torah—as Moshe Rabbeinu (the faithful shepherd) says in Zohar Parshas Naso: 'There is no side of impurity there,' which includes even lack of health. Also note our Sages' explanation regarding illness: 'Illness refers to the evil inclination' (Yerushalmi Shabbos ch. 14 halachah 3), with all its consequences downward, G‑d forbid.
These matters have been explained elsewhere—for example in Kuntres Etz HaChaim by my grandfather, the Rebbe Maharash; also in Maamar Nun Shin Ayin Beis (printed in Kuntres Chai Elul 5703) by my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.
May it be G‑d's will that you establish this study as per the directive of our master, the Alter Rebbe—a consistency not only in time but most importantly a consistency within your soul. I look forward to good news.
With blessing.
P.S. Surely you know and keep the three daily lessons: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that increased dedication to both revealed Torah and Chassidus brings added blessings—especially for health—and urges establishing consistent study not just as a routine but as something internalized within one's soul.
