לפלא גדול שזה זמן רב ביותר שאין ממנו כל מכתבים וידיעות. ואף שקבלתי ידיעות אודות מן הצד, כמובן שאינה דומה ידיעה המתקבלת מכלי שני מאשר ידיעות באופן ישר, ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה. ותקותי שלמותר לחזור עוה"פ על מה שכתבתי לו מכבר, אשר עליו להוסיף בפעולות בתורתנו ובמצותי' בהנוגע לעצמו ובהנוגע גם להזולת ומובן וגם פשוט שהכחות על זה ניתנו לו, וכמבואר בתניא אשר ירושה היא לנו מאבותנו, ואפילו תינוק בן יומו יורש בהחלט הוא עאכו"כ זה שזכה ללמוד בישיבה הק' תומכי תמימים שמע דא"ח מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר נשיא ישראל, שענין זה למעלה נצחי הוא ולמטה מתעורר אם באתעדל"ת או גם באתעדל"ע, אבל כל נפילת רוח ומה גם יאוש ח"ו - מקורם לא טהור הוא.
וכיון שבאים אנו מחדש ניסן ונמצאים בחדש זיו, יציאה ממצרים וגבולים והכנה לקבלת התורה, יהי' זה זמן ג"כ אצלו התחלת החירות וגמרה ותכליתה בקרוב, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ובפרט כשמסייעים לו.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
It is a great wonder that for a very long time there have been no letters or news from you. Even though I have received information about you from others, obviously news received secondhand is not the same as direct communication, and surely you will remedy this at the next opportunity.
I hope it is unnecessary to repeat what I have already written to you before: that you must increase your activities in our Torah and its mitzvos regarding yourself and also regarding others. It is understood and simple that you have been given the abilities for this, as explained in Tanya—that it is an inheritance for us from our ancestors, and even a newborn child is certainly an heir; how much more so one who merited to study in the holy Yeshivah Tomchei Temimim and heard Chassidus from the Rebbe Rayatz, leader of Israel. This matter is eternally elevated above and below it is awakened whether through arousal from below or above. But any loss of spirit—and certainly despair, G‑d forbid—comes from an impure source.
And since we are now coming from the month of Nissan and are in the month of Ziv—a time of leaving Egypt and boundaries, and preparation for receiving the Torah—may this also be for you a time of beginning freedom, its completion and fulfillment soon. Nothing stands in the way of willpower—especially when one receives help.
