... מובן שאין כוונתי לצעוק על העבר, ולצער מי שהוא, כ"א לעורר על להבא, ולהורות באצבע - הנראה גם לעיני בשר, שאחד הצנור והכלים הכי בטוח לעניני פרנסה גשמיית, היא ההתעסקות בעניני פרנסה ברוחניות, ואדרבה - פרנסה גשמית היא בידי שמים, וכנוסח ברכת המזון שהיא מדאורייתא, הזן את העולם כולו בטובו בחן ובחסד וברחמים [אלא שעל האדם לעשות כלים בטבע], משא"כ פרנסה ברוחניות, כולה ביד האדם, שהרי הכל בידי שמים חוץ מיר"ש, ונאמר ראה נתתי לפניך ותו לא מידי - משא"כ ובחרת, הוא תלוי באדם [אלא שמוסיפין בזה סיוע מלמעלה, הבא לטהר מסייעין אותו].
ויה"ר שבקרוב ממש יבש"ט מהזזה עיקרית בהנ"ל.
ובפרט שמתקרבים אנו לימי סגולה יום די"ט כסלו, נצחון אור תורת החסידות ודרכי החסידות, וימי חנוכה הסמוכים אליו, שענינם להוסיף אור מיום ליום, שהרי הלכה כב"ה דמוסיף והולך, בנר מצוה תורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות ועניני'.

... It is understood that my intention is not to shout about the past or to cause anyone pain, but rather to awaken for the future and to point out—visible even to physical eyes—that one of the most secure channels and vessels for matters of material livelihood is involvement in matters of spiritual livelihood. On the contrary—material livelihood is in the hands of Heaven, as in the wording of Birkat HaMazon, which is from the Torah: "He feeds the entire world with His goodness, with grace, kindness, and mercy" [though a person must make natural vessels]. In contrast, spiritual livelihood is entirely in a person's hands, for everything is in Heaven's hands except fear of Heaven. It says: "Re'eh natati lefanecha" (See I have placed before you) and nothing more—whereas "u'vacharta" (and you shall choose) depends on the person [though additional help from Above is given; one who comes to purify himself is assisted].
May it be G‑d's will that very soon I will hear good news about a fundamental change regarding the above. Especially as we are approaching auspicious days—Yud Tes Kislev, the victory of the light of Chassidus and its ways—and the nearby days of Chanukah, whose theme is increasing light day by day. For the halachah follows Beit Hillel: we increase and go up; "ner mitzvah Torah or" (a mitzvah candle is Torah light), and the illumination within Torah is Chassidus and its teachings.
With blessings for good news in all of the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that dedicating oneself to spiritual pursuits opens channels for material blessing. As Yud Tes Kislev and Chanukah approach—times focused on increasing light—we are encouraged to strengthen our commitment to Chassidus and mitzvos for both spiritual and material success.
