Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 7th of Cheshvan, in which you write about the doctors' recommendation regarding treatments,
It is understood that in such cases one begins with the simpler and easier method, i.e., only Tiberias baths. May it be G‑d's will that the treatment will be completely successful, and may Hashem fulfill your heart's wishes for living and enduring offspring very soon.
At this point I would like to note that you surely remember that when you were here I said repeatedly to your husband, the Rav shlita, that he should be more careful and precise regarding eating and drinking habits and generally in matters of bodily health. In addition to the main point—that this is a commandment of our holy Torah as stated by Rambam (Hilchos Deos 4:1): that the body be healthy and whole is among the ways of Hashem—this also affects your personal matter of living and enduring offspring. On the spot I saw that he was relating to this matter somewhat dismissively. Therefore I repeated my words. Since you returned to Eretz HaKodesh, may it be rebuilt and reestablished, my concern has grown that even in a minimal way your husband, the Rav shlita, is not paying attention to these matters. It is understood that supervision in this regard—my intention is simple: he should consult a doctor about meal schedules and types of foods that are healthy and good, as well as other matters related to bodily health,
And may it be G‑d's will that at least from now on he will do as mentioned above—even if only out of kabbalas ol (acceptance of the yoke)—so long as the matter comes about in practice. Nothing stands in the way of willpower; if he wants—he will do it.
It is understood that my intention is for you to show this letter also to your husband, the Rav shlita. May it be G‑d's will that these words have an effect.
Blessings for good news in all mentioned above,
In the name of the Rebbe shlita,
A. Quint
Secretary
