I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from Erev Shabbat Kodesh with the lists of names of students who received Chanukah gelt. May it be G‑d's will that this matter achieves its full effect in the areas discussed during the distribution here this year—both in their general and inner aspects—which are the secret within secrets; this is the concept of oil, that it should illuminate all matters. Not only in matters within the home but also at the entrance to the home and outward, in a manner that increases day by day. The point is that in all new undertakings it should be evident that these are new undertakings of those for whom the inner dimension of Torah—that is, Chassidus—permeates everywhere, like oil. And since our Rebbeim invested their own essential and inner strengths into this, certainly the ability and possibility have been given; only that things are arranged so each person must bring potential into actuality so it will not be "bread of shame."

It is surprising that you do not mention anything regarding those students who spend part of their time studying literature. My strong hope is that they are being elevated through this, for this too is holy work. Certainly if there are others suited for this as well, they should be added to those already involved... I look forward to good news about this.
