הנה יהי רצון שמתאים לתוכן כתבו, תחול הטבה, הזזה ממשית, בהענינים אודותם כותב, ובכלל בכל עניני חב"ד אשר באה"ק ת"ו, וכיון שהענין דומה - יהי' זה ע"ד מ"ש באגה"ת לרבנו הזקן סוף פרק ט', הי' רגיל לקרות דף אחד יקרא שני דפים וכו'.
ובפרט[2] שהרי מתקרבים אנו לחדש כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה והנצחון, וגאולה כל אלה אשר זכו לטעום מתורת חסידות ועניני', וכידוע פתגם רבותינו נשיאינו הק', אשר י"ט כסלו הוא ר"ה בלימוד החסידות ודרכי החסידות, וראש חדש הרי ביאר רבנו הזקן ובנו אדמו"ר האמצעי דיוק הל' ראש, ולא תחלת, שהראש כולל חיות כל אברי הגוף, כן ר"ח כולל בתוכו ימי החדש, שמזה מובן שבשבת מברכין מתחילים הענינים בזה, והיום יוכ"פ קטן שזוהי ההכנה לר"ח מתחילה ההכנה לזה שבזה תלוים ההמשכות, וכהודעת רז"ל שאפילו פתיחה כחודה של מחט פותחת פתחו של אולם, של אולם דוקא, שנוסף על גדלו, הנה תמיד הוא פתוח, כי אין לו דלתות לסתימה ח"ו.

In response to your letter from the 9th of MarCheshvan and the previous one: May it be G‑d's will that, in accordance with the content of your letter, there will be improvement and tangible progress in the matters about which you write, and in general in all matters of Chabad in Eretz HaKodesh. And since this matter is similar to what is written in Iggeres HaTeshuvah by our master the Alter Rebbe at the end of chapter 9—that if one was accustomed to read one page, he should read two pages, etc.—especially as we are approaching the month of Kislev, which is the month of Geulah and victory. This is a redemption for all those who have merited to taste from the teachings and matters of Chassidus. As is well known from the saying of our holy Rebbeim Nesi'im that Yud Tes Kislev is Rosh Hashanah for learning Chassidus and its ways. Regarding Rosh Chodesh itself, our master the Alter Rebbe and his son Admor HaEmtza'i explained precisely why it is called "Rosh" (head) and not "beginning," because the head includes within it the vitality for all parts of the body; so too Rosh Chodesh includes within it all days of the month. From this we understand that on Shabbat Mevarchim (the Shabbat when we bless the new month), these matters begin. And today is Yom Kippur Katan (the minor day of atonement), which serves as preparation for Rosh Chodesh; thus, preparation begins now, upon which all subsequent influences depend. As our sages teach: even an opening as small as a needle's eye opens into a great hall—specifically a hall—which besides its size is always open because it has no doors to close it off, G‑d forbid.
