לאחרי הפסק הכי ארוך, נתקבל מכתבו עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע ובטח, אף שאינו מזכיר אודות זה, הנה נוסף על השתתפותו בהתועדות יש לו קביעות ללימוד בתורת החסידות, ובודאי ידוע לו פתגם רבנו הזקן שצ"ל לא רק קביעות בזמן, אלא, והוא העיקר, קביעות בנפש, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ומה טוב שבכל מקום שידו מגעת ישפיע בכגון דא, וזכות הרבים מסייעתו, והרי כל אדם נצרך לברכתו של הקב"ה עם תוספתו שהיא מרובה על העיקר. ובפרט כשמתכוננים בעתיד הקרוב לבנות בית בישראל בנין עדי עד.
ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.

After the longest interruption, your letter was received with the enclosed pan (pidyon nefesh), which will be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal. Surely, even though you do not mention it, in addition to your participation in farbrengens you have a set study in the teachings of Chassidus. Certainly you know the saying of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe that there must be not only constancy in time but—most importantly—constancy in one's soul. Nothing stands in the way of willpower. How good it would be if wherever you are able you influence others similarly; the merit of the many will assist you. After all, every person needs the blessing of the Holy One, blessed be He, with His additional bounty which surpasses even what is essential.
This is especially true when one is preparing in the near future to build a home among Israel—an everlasting edifice.
As we approach the new year that is coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: blessings for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually.

Regarding what was written about the measurement of two fingers for tefillin without the base—see Shulchan Aruch Admor HaZaken siman lamed beit seif samech gimel: "the boxes etc., but orach verochav (length and width) of the base etc., that the boxes etc., should be two fingers etc." Pri Megadim Orach Chaim siman kuf nun vav (and Ot Chaim questions him there seif katan yud tet). The Rosh as brought in Tur: "take a mold etc., two fingers" (as noted by Ot Chaim there at end of seif katan kaf). Shut Beit Shaarim Orach Chaim siman chaf chet (which I do not have on hand).
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true commitment to Chassidus requires both regular study times and deep personal dedication. As one prepares to build a Jewish home, this inner constancy brings abundant blessings for both spiritual and material success in the coming year.
