I acknowledge receipt of your esteemed letter from the 18th of Menachem Av and the previous one, and thank you for the good news about the improvement in the health of David bar Chanina, sheyichyeh. May it be G‑d's will that he return to full strength.
Let me point out the teaching of our Sages regarding the connection between the names Menachem, David, Chanina, etc., and the redemption of Israel (Sanhedrin 98b).
At an auspicious time I will mention those you wrote about in your above-mentioned letter at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, for whatever they need according to what you wrote. May it be G‑d's will that there will also be good news about them as well, speedily in our days—and how much better if it comes even sooner.
