Utilizing Available People Despite Imperfections

The Rebbe writes that when a situation requires work in various fields, it is necessary to utilize the people who are actually available, even if they are not perfect. If there are no better options, reducing the work is not a solution and would only make things worse.

... כמדומה, שכבר נדבר פעם, שבמצב מסוים הדורש עבודה במקצועות שונים, מובן וגם פשוט שמוכרחים להשתמש ולנצל אותן האנשים הנמצאים בפועל, אפילו אם חסרים הם שלימות, ואפשר יש כאלו שהחסרון הוא די גדול, הנה כיון שאין נמצא יותר טובים מהם, פשוט שאין זה עצה לגרוע גם מהעבודה, כי הרי אין זה תיקון אלא אדרבה...

It seems that we have already discussed once that in a certain situation which requires work in various fields, it is understood and obvious that one must use and utilize those people who are actually present, even if they lack completeness, and perhaps there are some whose deficiency is quite significant. However, since there are no better people available than them, it is clear that it is not advisable to reduce the work as well, for this would not be a solution but rather the opposite...


Summary

The Rebbe teaches that when perfect candidates are lacking for important tasks, one should still utilize those who are available rather than diminish the work required. Waiting for ideal people or reducing activity only harms progress.
