מכתבו נתקבל בעתו ומגודל המעמסה והטרדות נתעכב המענה ואת כת"ר הסליחה.
מה שכותב שנתקל בקשיים בעבודתו בהחזקת היהדות בקהלתו מצד מנגדים והעלמות והסתרים, הנה ידוע על פי המבואר בכמה ספרים שאין להתרשם מזה כלל וכלל ואדרבה להוסיף אומץ במלחמתה של תורה ומצוות. וידוע פתגם רבותינו נשיאינו נבג"מ זי"ע - חזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם.
והרי נמצאים אנו בעקבתא דמשיחא אשר על ימים אלו הודיעונו חכמינו ז"ל אין לך יום שאין כו', אשר בודאי לא היתה כוונת הודעה זו להטיל אימה, אלא להודיע בעוד מועד בכדי שלא יפול לב איש הישראלי עליו בראותו המצב, ועוד זאת בכדי להוסיף ברכה כנגד קללה ולא להסתפק באותם ההשגים של היום, כי הרי זה לעומת זה עשה האלקים, וכשהקללה מתרבה ר"ל, מוכרח הרבוי וההגדלה של הברכה והטוב, הם עניני תורתנו ומצוותי', ויתרון האור מן החושך, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.

Your letter was received in due time and due to the great workload and distractions, my response was delayed; I ask your forgiveness for this.
Regarding what you write about encountering difficulties in your work to strengthen Judaism in your community from opponents and concealments and obstacles: it is well known, as explained in several books, that one should not be affected by this at all. On the contrary, one must increase strength in the battle for Torah and mitzvos.
It is known the saying of our Rebbeim Nesi'einu nbg"m zya"a: 'It is certain that efforts in spreading will not return empty-handed.' And we are now in Ikvesa d'Meshicha (the footsteps of Mashiach), about which our Sages of blessed memory informed us: 'There is no day without...'—certainly this was not meant to frighten us, but rather to inform us ahead of time so that a Jewish heart will not falter upon seeing the situation. Furthermore, it is to encourage adding blessing against curse and not to be satisfied with today's achievements, for 'this corresponds to that G‑d made.' When curses increase (G‑d forbid), there must be an increase and expansion of blessing and goodness—these are matters of our Torah and its mitzvos—and the advantage of light over darkness. There is nothing that stands before willpower.
