במענה על מכתבו מכ"ד טבת, בקשת ברכה לעלות בסולם העולה בית-אל, ובעת רצון יזכירוהו על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע מתאים לבקשתו.
לפלא שאינו כותב במכתבו אודות סדר לימודו וענינו בהידור קיום המצות, שהרי התורה והמצוה הם הסולם עליו נאמר סולם מוצב ארצה וראשו מגיע השמימה וכדרז"ל הידועה סולם זה סיני (חושבנא דדין כחושבנא דדין) סולם דא צלותא.
ומובן ופשוט שעליו להוסיף ככל יכולתו הן בלימוד התורה בנגלה וחסידות והן בהידור קיום מצותי' אשר תמיד יש מקום לעלי' בזה וכמש"נ תלמידי חכמים אין להם מנוחה כו' ילכו מחיל אל חיל, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון.
בטח יודע משלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים ועכ"פ ישמור אותם מכאן ולהבא.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the 24th of Teves, requesting a blessing to ascend the ladder leading to Beit-El: At an auspicious time you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal l'havdil ben chayim mezichro tzadik livrachah, in accordance with your request.
It is surprising that you do not write in your letter about your schedule of study and your meticulousness in mitzvah observance. After all, Torah and mitzvah are the ladder about which it is said 'Sulam Mutzav Artzah v'Roshom Magia HaShamaymah' ("A ladder set on the earth whose top reaches heaven") and as our Sages famously say: 'This ladder is Sinai (its numerical value matches that of Sinai); this ladder is prayer.' It is clear and obvious that you must increase as much as possible both in Torah study—Nigleh and Chassidus—and in beautifying mitzvah observance, for there is always room for growth in these areas. As it is written: 'Torah scholars have no rest... they go from strength to strength,' and nothing stands in the way of willpower.
You surely know about the three daily study portions established by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzukal l'havdil ben chayim mezichro tzadik livrachah—in Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which are well known. At the very least, keep them from now on.
